9 Products With Massive Profit Potential You Can Sell On Amazon Today

In my last article I revealed my method for picking out products I wish to private label. I had already used it to generate over $30,000 in revenue in a few short weeks and am now still employing the method to build out a new brand.

It is a bit complex, however, so I decided to get the ball rolling for you. I spent a few hours going through Amazon bestsellers in categories I am not currently competing in and found a handful of products with great profit and growth potential.

I only went through top level categories, so I didn’t dive into any subcategories. I am also evolving the formula, so in the interest of saving time and not coming up empty handed, I loosened the stringent rules of some of the steps. For example, I no longer used number of brands as a criteria to qualify or disqualify a potential private labeler. Simply, if their storefront had 60 products or less, they qualified.

Also, I didn’t do massive research on possible big brands. I typically just counted anything sold by Amazon. And I counted every listing over $10k a month that was a possible PL. Beyond that, I stuck to the rules strictly. And still, there were so many seemingly good products that I had to pass up because they scored below a 9. I had a few great runners-up in the 8.5+ range, but I didn’t want to deviate from that rule.

One last caveat. Amazon is doing weird things with forcing searches into subcategories from the main page. If you try to follow along you may get different results than I did thanks to this.

So, without further ado, here are the 9 products with great profit potential you can sell on Amazon…

9 Products, 8 Categories

Keyword: Shock Collar

Category: Pets

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 13
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 13
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 4
  • Search volume MW: 5
  • Search volume H10: 10
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 15
  • Number of results: 1
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.18

Many people will tell you to stay away from electronics made overseas, but this product represents a ripe opportunity in a not-yet-totally-saturated market. Sure there are a few sellers with thousands of reviews, but the key takeaways here are that this niche isn’t dominated by big brands or by Amazon.

Keyword: Garden Hose

Category: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 14
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 15
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 1
  • Search volume MW: 15
  • Search volume H10: 15
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 15
  • Number of results: 1
  • Needs variations: Y
  • Total score: 9.63

I know what you are thinking. This product has already had its hayday, right? The collapsible hose was the big thing a couple years back. You’re probably right. And as a remnant of that, there are over 8,000 results for this keyword.

However, the space has clearly settled down. Despite this product having some big negatives, like variations and not many listings in the “sweet spot” BSR-wise, there still appears to be some major upside. For starters, listings aren’t dominating with thousands of reviews. Also, the keyword gets massive traction. I think, if you could find a way to differentiate (or be plain-Jane but way cheaper), this could be a stellar product.

Keyword: Ear Thermometer

Category: Baby

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 6
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 11
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 3
  • Search volume MW: 10
  • Search volume H10: 10
  • Search volume Adwords: 5
  • Not a large brand: 14
  • Number of results: 10
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9

This product displays much more “realistic” numbers, but still presents a fantastic opportunity. While I usually don’t advocate for the baby niche (primarily due to my own personal failures there), this product looks like a diamond in the rough. It has very little competition, and this is an absolute essential for any parent.

I want to point out too that the keyword says ear thermometer, but it looks like infrared thermometers (forehead thermometers) are doing well in this space. Just, most people don’t search infrared for some reason.

Keyword: Teeth Whitening

Category: Beauty & Personal Care

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 9
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 8
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 2
  • Search volume MW: 15
  • Search volume H10: 15
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 12
  • Number of results: 0
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.18

This product presents a bigger challenge than the previous ones because it has much more competition; more search results as well as more reviews. Be that as it may, teeth whitening products (specifically charcoal products) still have a huge piece of the pie left for claiming.

The searches are massive and the product itself is kind of trendy right now so there appears to be room on the bandwagon to gain some swift momentum and make some decent profits.

Keyword: Turmeric Curcumin

Category: Health & Household

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 8
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 10
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 5
  • Search volume MW: 10
  • Search volume H10: 15
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 14
  • Number of results: 10
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 10.18

Wait. What? I thought this product, like every other supplement, had already gotten super saturated. Maybe it was the sneaky auto-subcategory thing that got me, but this niche still looks solid. There are definitely big players here, but they are all small brands that sell mostly just on Amazon. They may not be the easiest competitors to compete with, but it is possible to take some market share when all of the players are essentially on the same level.

Keyword: Binoculars

Category: Electronics

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 9
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 12
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 5
  • Search volume MW: 10
  • Search volume H10: 15
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 15
  • Number of results: 0
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.63

I didn’t even know that binoculars were electronic, but apparently there are new, smaller, foldable ones that also have night vision and other cool features. Again, I know most are cautioned to be wary of electronics, but there could be major margins for this product.

Keyword: Swimming Googles

Category: Sports & Outdoors

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 9
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 12
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 4
  • Search volume MW: 10
  • Search volume H10: 10
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 14
  • Number of results: 5
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.4

Solid niche product with a pretty large and avid market. There’s definitely some established players now, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t differentiate yourself and get into the sports and outdoors game.

Keyword: Magnetic Screen Door

Category: Tools & Home Improvement

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 11
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 11
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 3
  • Search volume MW: 1
  • Search volume H10: 10
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 16
  • Number of results: 10
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.27

Another great product that has surprisingly less competition than would be expected. This is a good product because it sits on the line between trendy and essential. And there doesn’t appear to be any large brand penetration here.

Keyword: LED Flashlight

Category: Tools & Home Improvement

Here are the criteria and their scores.

  • Top 100 Bestseller: Y
  • 3PS sells over 60k: Y
  • Number of 3PS 5 figure monthly sales: 10
  • Less than 1000 reviews: 11
  • BSR 2k to 9k: 4
  • Search volume MW: 10
  • Search volume H10: 10
  • Search volume Adwords: 10
  • Not a large brand: 15
  • Number of results: 0
  • Needs variations: N
  • Total score: 9.03

This one seems to have a lot of competition. There are quite a few results, but the prepper niche is HUGE, so there may still be plenty of room to profit. Overall there isn’t a huge big brand presence here either, and Amazon doesn’t appear to have taken control over most listings. These are both good signs.

Will You Get Rich?

I know many of you will notice that a lot of these products have already been popular among private labelers in the past. I just want to address a couple of things. First, fads are cyclical, so there may always be niches we can re-enter in the future. Second, my method specifically looks for products that have proven themselves among private labelers.

There are many different ways to make money on Amazon, but my particular method takes a more risk-averse path. Can you still sell products that are unproven or don’t have a pre-existing track record? Of course. And in fact, that is where the largest upside usually lay. The higher the risk the greater the reward.

However, if you are looking to stack cash flow to fuel your ongoing growth, this method and these products can provide for you just that. You may have missed the chance to be the $400,000 a month seller of tactical flashlights, but there is likely still plenty of room for a $35,000 a month seller. If you are ok with that, then you probably will get rich…eventually.
